    3. Does anyone have information about the family of Rev. John King from Henry Co. who was earlier in (probably) Pittsylvania or Brunswick counties? His daughter, Mary "Polly" King married Charles Jones in Henry Co. around 1790. Are these King's part of the Solomon King family? Thank you. ----- Original Message ----- From: EVELYN ALEXANDER To: VAFRANKL@rootsweb.com ; nct Sent: Monday, August 13, 2007 11:23 AM Subject: [VAFRANKL] (no subject) My Jubal Turner was born in 1793, Franklin Co, VA, he married 16 May 1818,Emily 'Milly' Ross, [b. 1797, Franklin Co., VA]. 3. My Millie's maiden name was Renfro. According to her sons Bible, she was the daughter of one of the 3 Renfro brothers who settled Rentfro Station at the Red river. There were 2 sets of "3 Renfro brothers" there. They were cousins. If anyone has info on John, the son of Joseph Renfro who was killed by indians at the station, and Olive Renfro, I would appreciate hearing from them. I am trying to rule Joseph out as her father next. The John Rentfro living in Livingston Co., KY was very close to Millie and her husband, Moses Shelby. 2. Jan Patterson
    3. Does anyone on this list own this book or have access to a list of marriages during this time frame? I am looking for two marriages for one man. choose the last name spelling that will work best for your source. John Hansbrough Ansbough Ansbrough Ansbury Ansberry Ansbrow Ansbro Ansbrew Ansbraugh Ansbra Anbough Anbrough Anbury Anberry Anbrow Anbro Anbrew Anbraugh Anbra Andbough Andbrough Andberry Andbrow Andbro Andbrew Andbraugh Andbra Repeat with the first letter being an H with all those spellings after it. you get the idea any way Hansbrough can be spelled please try it. I don't know who he married prior to his marriage to Sarah M. Grubs (again choose your spelling) on July 19, 1814 in Frederick Co., VA probably Middletown twnsp. In fact I can't guarantee he was married prior to her. However, since he was 27 to her 17 I find it very likely. If anyone has a copy of the book or access to early 1800's marriage records from around 1804-1814 if you could look for John and his wives and tell me what all the record says I'd greatly appreciate it. Jan who would be most appreciative in OK

    2. You can call Tiffany Hudson 540-420-7673. The Bernards married into the Hudson family and she has lots of information, she is my daughter. However she is very busy , college, work, volunteer rescue squad emt, etc.etc. If she can help you she will tell you and if she can't she will also tell you. She can not afford to copy and mail out a lot of packages. She got into that one year and she was spending lots of money mailing packages. A place many genealogist has found themselves. I will look and see what I have on the Bernards also. Good luck, Donna ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

    1. Re: [VAFRANKL] Mt Ivy Christian Church Records
    2. Mt. Ivy is in Scruggs, Virginia. Don't blink to many times when passing through or you will miss it. NO, Scruggs is building up since the lake came in in the late 60's. They have grocery stores, shopping malls, they are now getting a library and YMCA. When I was growing up before the lake. Their was two or three little country stores. Now they have more businesses it seems than the town of Rocky Mount. FYI Mt. Ivy Christian Church 5120 Scruggs Road Moneta, Virginia 24121 540-721-5060 I don't think Scruggs has a post office yet. Their are P.O. in Wirtz, Moneta, and Smith Mountain Postal Branch. It seems Smith Mt. Lakes is growning as fast as computers. 1. Re: [VAFRANKL] Mt Ivy Christian Church Records
    2. Take 122 out of Rocky Mount , North. Past Burnt Chimney, at the second stop light on 122 take 616 , Scruggs Road , turn right. Go past The Waterfront Country Club signs, Brownie's Auto, keep going and you will hit an intersection, you can go right or left. You go left and just a little ways up on a hill you will see Mt. Ivy Christian Church on the right. Mt. Ivy Baptist Church is on the left. Mr. Ivy Christian is a beautiful very old white church on the hill with cemeteries all on the right side of of the church. Last I heard Steve Pasley was the pastor. Rev. Hunt was with Mt. Ivy for many years, he buried my grandparents, one great-grandparent, my parents, and on and on. I think if he had a log it would be helpful to so many. That is where my daddy's family, Ed and Livie Brown and children went to this church, as well as Ed and Livies descendants. My grandparents are in a grave that has a fence aound it and many Brown's are buried there. ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

    1. Re: [VAFRANKL] Pigg River
    2. The settler's map does not have the Leesville Dam. Pigg River orginates out of the Blue ridge Mountain above Calloway, travels through Rocky Mount south of route 40 East it crosses route 40 just east of Sandy Level in Pittsylvania County shortly afterwards, it joins the Roanoke/Staunton River a few miles east of the Smith Mt. Lake Dam and is a part of Leesville Lake. Happy Hunting, Donna ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
