As with most volunteer work you get more than you give. No one can appreciate the work that goes into transcribing until one has done so. It will help one learn to decipher old handwriting. It will help one understand why there are so many mistakes on people's names. It will give a whole new perspective on how much work has been done and how much needs to be done to make census information readily available on the internet. Also, another way to get more census info online is at Kindred Konnections. Volunteer to do a census page and you will received a one hour free search at K-K. If you are a subscriber to Family Tree Maker's Books online there are many census images there. I have no connection to US GenWeb Census Project, S-K Publications or Kindred Konnections.

Well I guess I can answer yes and no. :) Below is what I have for these two very confusing couples and there children. Jehu Griffith and Martha Griffith were brother and sister and siblings to my ggg grandfather John T. Griffith. John C. Griffith and Martha Griffith moved to Raleigh County WV sometime in the 1860's and are listed in the 1870 and 80 census as shown below. For some reason a lot of the Griffith folk are listed as Griffey in the Raleigh County census records of 1860 and 1870. To make things a little more confusing Sparrel H. Griffith brother of Jehu,Martha and John T. Griffith married Mary Elizabeth Campbell daughter of William Campbell and Martha Ingram. Do you have ties to these Griffith lines?
