    1. [VAFRANKL] PRICE, John & WEAVER, Dicey
    2. David O. Frazee
    3. John PRICE married Dicey WEAVER in 1818 in VA. Can anyone researching the PRICES in VA. tell me who the parents were of this John? These folks moved to Preble Co., Ohio but John lived only a short time after arriving. There is not very much information in Preble Co. regarding him because of that. There were several other PRICES in Preble but I have not been able to make the connection of which was John's father. Did the father come to Preble Co.? Thanks for any help. 2. Am searching for message posted by a Jim at email addy below:jimc75@prodigy.net He had a message concerning Cooper and Martin family. I received the post either yesterday or today, March 9th, and accidently deleted it. I wanted to send him the following message, however, the e-mail was returned because "Your message was not delivered because the DNS records for the destination computer could not be found." Jim, I noticed your Post on the VAFranklin Co Digest and especially the Martin's who were listed under the Geo. Cooper family. Do you have any further info on the Martin Line? I am a descendent of Isaac Martin of Patrick Co., Thomas Martin of Stokes Co., NC, and am interested in locating family members of George Clinton Martin of Franklin Co. who married a Turner in the 1800's. 1. [VAFRANKL] Griffith Home Place
    2. Gary & Deb
    3. Interested in finding the present day location of the "Griffith Place" referenced in the following letter from Isaac Lemons to Dr. A.D. Wood dated 4/28/1922. The letter provides the following clues as to its location: The "Griffith Place" lies to the south-east of Dr. Woods "old home place". The property in 1922 was then owned by Marion Agee. Sixty years prior to 1922 the place was owned by John Snuffer. John Y. Shortt moved to this property in 1837 and built a house that was still standing in 1922. The property apparently had a grave yard, as well as one lone grave some distance from the grave yard. One of Jehu Griffith's sons was buried on the property, perhaps at the lone grave mentioned above. In other notes of Dr. Woods this place may have been purchased by Jehu Griffith and be on the Floyd -Cannadays Gap Road seven miles east of the county seat. I have a copy of a potentially related document. A deed dated 2/5/1858 (1922-1858= 64 years, this part work out well) where Jehu Griffith purchased 196 acres from "Peter Snuffer executor of John Snuffer deceased said Peter Snuffer now of Raleigh County Virginia". The land marks referenced in this deed are as follows: Jefferson Turners Spring Branch, John Youngs line, Fishers line, Hickmans Branch, and Runnet Bag Creek. However this deed references the location as Franklin County while Dr. Woods info references Floyd County. I seem to remember that the County line in this area changed at some time, does anyone know if this change occurred between 1858 and 1922? I appreciate any help that can be provided. Gary Griffith

    3. To Peter Ramsey: The following is what I and other have determined are the children of Daniel Alexander Griffith. Not all this research is mine but comes from Marvin Raney, Gary Griffith, Sonny Griffith and Kathy Veasey. By studying marriage records and census records I believe this outline to be correct. If you have other evidence to contradict it, I would like to know it's origins. Hope this clears up alot of misinformation. I just hope this posts okay.
