Cunegunde is an ancient Germanic female name. It is spelled in a variety of ways with both a "C" or a "K" and may end in an "e" or an "a". Sometimes it has two "n"s in the first part and sometimes the first "e" is an "i". There is a Roman Catholic saint by the name of Cunigunde. The most famous Cunegunde I know of is a character in Voltaire's Candide -- which was later made into the musical of the same name by Leonard Bernstein. Now of course, that doesn't mean that your person was of Germanic origin. Voltaire was French and his works were translated into many languages. A parent with a taste for classical literature might have named a child as such. Alathe is unknown to me. I'm an amateur name buff and checking the Net found no names of this spelling. If it's a last name, it's extremely rare. If it's a middle name, it might have been coined, or perhaps it's a derivative of Olathe, a county and town in Kansas.
