I am searching for the parents of James Hughes. He was born abt 1804. He married Mary Winn dau of Miner Winn & Elizabeth "Betsey" Anderson in 1833. In 1850 he was residing with George & Tabitha (MANLEY) McLAIN (p.4/5 #31). Tabitha was a daughter of Micajah & Sarah (SEAY) MANLEY. Who was Samuel MANLEY? Was he a nephew? Hi, The following maybe found in the 1999 publication of 'The Bulletin'. Number 67 - "In the Name of God, Amen" by Ellen Miyagawa covers the first 25 years. The bulletin is most helpful in understanding early wills. Number 68 - "Bremo Bluff, A River Village - Part 1" by James Y. Taylor. This bulletin is great because this is the first to have an index. The Fluvanna Co. Historical Society does a wonderful job with their publications. They are a must for anyone researching in Fluvanna and would like to know about life during the building of this small but important area.
