Bill You may want to check with the folks at the Courthouse. Cunningham Creek is mentioned in surveyors reports way back in the 1700's. It's headwaters are located in the little town of Cunningham and was noted as a boundary in the sale of property to my ancestor, Elias Wills. My son and I were driving through your fine county when we came upon the small town of Cunningham. Since our surname is Cunningham, we stopped at a general store to inquire about the town name. The gentlemen there could not tell us why it is called Cunningham. Does anyone on the list know the reason the town is called Cunningham and who it is named after? Jennie, Michelle and I are going to give up the Fluvanna County web site. I'm not sure what we have up that you do not have but I wanted to let you know so nothing would be lost to others. Lee
Michelle, You had some relatives who were making inquiries on my Haislip line but I have not heard from them. Do you have an e-mail address for them. This was some time in Jan./Feb. time frame. What is your e-mail address that you will be using when you close down the web site? You all have done a heroic job trying to keep it alive and we will be sorry to see it go. Do you know any near by sites that can pick up any of the info on Fluvanna? Is the Fluvanna Historical Soc. still functioning? I've not been a part of this group long, but quickly came to appreciate Michele, and found that we share an ancestry in Fluvanna that can be traced back as far as the 1620's in the Jamestown area. I join the rest of you in thanking her and wishing her well. Charles M. Cook
Michele, Thanks for everything, and congratulations on a job well done! Rosanna Bencoach (Researching Giannini's and allied lines)

Michele, I hear you saying that resigning as our host is what you need to do, and I respect that. At the same time, I agree with others that we'd love to have you continue if you can be persuaded. You have been doing such a fine job, and we hate to let you go... You encouraged me when I was a newbie, and I won't forget it! Whatever you decide to do, I thank you, commend you, and wish you well! Evelyn
Thanks for all you time and effort. As one of the Bragg "cousins" and Va. researcher, I really appreciate all you have done and wish you happy retirement. Harriet Stairs (hstairs@aol.com)
Michele, Bless you for all you have done. May your retirement be joyous and happy. Thank you forever Barbara
Michele you have crafted a wonderful website for Fluvanna Co - you cant go! Louise
Hello fellow Fluvannian descendants, It hasn't been long that I've been monitoring this forum. Michelle has been wonderful in hosting this group. I have actually been back there to Fluvanna County, Va. a couple of times to research my ancestry, which incidentally, Michelle and I share particularly, the McCary/Winn families. Some of our people were there when Fluvanna was formed. Fluvanna is one of the most beautiful places I have visited. Palmyra, the county seat is but a dip in the road. The locals call it "the village", and that it is. Fluvanna sits just off the Blue Ridge. A major interstate crosses the northwestern tip of the county. There are no major cities within the county, but it is a short drive to Charlottesville, in Albermarle Co., and Thomas Jefferson's home. If Michelle must go, let's all give her a message of appreciation. What she has done is wonderful, and took a great deal of her time. However, join with me in asking her to stay on, if she can. Awww, come on Michele. Don't quit. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the job you've been doing. There are doers in this world, like yourself. We appreciate the job you've been doing. If'n you go away what are we gonna do. We luv you. The questions you couldn't answer has nothing to do with the value of your hosting. It is important that the question be cast upon the internet. You have helped provide a forum.
