    1. [VAFLUVAN] Richardson
    2. Charles P. Venable
    3. John Richarson whose last will was signed Nov. 1, 1810 left everything to his wife Sally. Abraham Venable Jr. , William Hughes Jr. and James Currin were appointed by John as executors. Sarah Richardson, widow of John Richardson left all of her real estate and personal property to William S. Venable, William L. Clarke and Rebecca Collinsworth in her will which was presented and proved Nov. 28, 1831 in Fluvanna Co. VA . I am trying to find the maiden name of Sarah Richardson and trying to find if there was a relationship between these people. Pat Venable

    3. Hi Jim, I have more on Isabella Bartley; Marriage records had her as Isabella Bartlett m. 29 Oct 1814, Fluv. to Larkins Powers. They had a daughter Cary Ann who m. William F. Black, s/o George W. Black and Henrietta Thomas. Cary Ann died 3 Dec. 1890 of consumption at age 70. I have more but would like to know who her parents are for they might already be in my database. Fluvanna Co Marriages has Meriwether Bartley m. Sally M. Creasy, 25 Oct 1817 by min. Isaac Lucado (Bapt) born returned 27 Apr 1818. In the 1777-1783 Deeds for Fluvanna the only Creasy I saw was a William Creasy. In May of 1777, William is mentioned in a land deal between George Thompson and Roger Thompson of Albemarle. A William Creasey is listed in the 1787 Virginia census, also a Thomas Barlett was also listed. I saw no John Barlett. I did see a Barnett, Sarah and William. The marriage register should have the names and birthplaces of both sets of parents. The register covers two pages - did you look at the second one? The 1850 Louisa Co. census lists Garret Smith, age 5, in the household of William Smith, age 50 and his wife Frances, age 47. Yours? Ann -- Ann Avery Hunter Richmond, Virginia mailto:annh@erols.com

    1. [VAFLUVAN] John F. Bell
    2. John F(endall?) Bell was born in Fluvanna County, married about 1830 to Jane Adie and lived in Falmouth, Stafford County. Were his parents John Bell and Sally A. Strange married in Fluvanna in 1811 by William Baskett? His daughter, Sally Fendall Bell (or Buell), married Henry Milstead in 1849. Any relation to the John Fendall Beall of Maryland? I also note the Ashley Bells at that time including Ashley John Bell born in 1860, presumably from Ashley Bell married in 1797. A brother of John? I plan on coming to Palmyra, VA when the weather is a little bit better to look at what I understand are excellent resources. In addition to courthouse, library, and historical society, what should I look for? Any help would be appreciated. Charlie McNett Bethesda, VA
