    1. 1880 Census help needed
    2. I am trying to find a Polly or Mary Wilson who would be a widow in 1880 Census of either Fluvanna or Goochland as I believe they lived on the border of the county. Mary or Polly reported the death of her daughter in 1879 in Goochland county and I am hoping she was still living in 1880. She might have been living with a child. Thanks Pat

    1. Cemetery on/near Drivers Hill outside Scottsville
    2. Hi to the List Hoping someone on the list might be familiar with this... this information was given a long time back by two different souces, so we believe it was correctly stated at that time: From Scottsville go east on state route 6 about 1.5 miles. At top of hill turn right on dirt road. Pass an old house on the right that may have been the BRADY Place. This road traversed an area of Drivers Hill where supposedly there is a cemetery with at least one know burial. Saunders family history was that tombstone was placed on the grave of ROBERT LUTHER SAUNDERS by his son. Robert Luther Saunders died 1862. I have spoken with Mr. Thacker who was in the Funeral Business in Scottsville, and he is not aware of this cemetery. Is there anyone on the list who might know if it is still there and accessible? TIA Alice

Sent: Thursday 11 January 2001 20:04 Subject: [VAFLUVAN] David Robinson -1850 census Michele, this is my grgrandfather, living with his son David and wife.Jessie is another son.David Robinson died in1861. Was in the war of 1812. These sons are from his first wife Mary Hodges, who he married in Goochland County. In 1852 he married my grgrandmother Mary Herndon in Fluvanna County and she received his pension and bounty land from the war. That marriage produced my grandmother' Rebecca Ann Robinson, Robert Robinson(Robertson)last know to be living Shipman, Virginia as I have a letter from him in 1920 addressed to my grandmother in Richmond,Va. What is the Johnson connection Alice referred to.? "This could be her line...also they are near Johnsons and Johnson are mixed with Braggs!!" I believe she is saying that this family lived near them. David's neighbors were William Johnson and Wm. Mosby. Other Johnson near by were John and William J. I also saw a America Robinson age 38 living in the Shepherd household followed by the Wm Johnson household, then the David Robinson household. How do you think she fits in? Michele

    3. No, Mary. This isn't really my line but connects to my line through in-law. I did have Virginia in my database because she was married to Chapman Kidd. Do you know that names and births of all the children of David and Mary (Hodge) Robinson? I will have to review Alice message first before I can answer your Johnson question. I've started back to school last Thur. and have been pretty busy. Haven't been able to keep up with messages. Sincerely, Michèle Your message caught my attention - your Mary HODGES from Goochland Co VA; do you know her parents? Also do you have an Elizabeth Jane ROBINSON in your database? I have Elizabeth ROBINSON marrying a CLARKSON. 3. Dont know if this has been posted or not. The Virginia listed on the 1850 with David Robinson Sr. and David Robinson Jr. is the daugher of David C. Robinson (not sure of the middle initial) David Sr. was married Mary Hodges in 1813. in Goochland County. His daughter by her was Virginia C.Robinson married to Chapman Kidd, Fluvanna,1852.This information was sent to my by another researcher who is a descendent of David Robinson and Mary Hodges. I am descended from David C. Robinson and Mary Herndon. I think the middle initial may be for Cosby and am hoping someone can find a connection between David C. Robinson and the Cosby family.
