    2. David Bentley
    3. Shellie, I don't know anything much about the Richardson clan except they seem to live close to the Bentley clan in both VA and KY Samuel Richardson obviously lived on adjoining land in Fluvanna Co. VA Fluvanna Marriage Records list these Richardson's: Elizabeth Richardson m. Richard Allen - 1781 Samuel Richardson m.Frances Washington - 1803 Dudley Richardson m. Nancy Herndon - 1805 Elizabeth Richardson m. Abraham Bowles - 1830 Granville Richardson m. Lucy Flannagan - 1831 Barbara A. Richardson m.James Turner - 1844 Susan V. Richardson m.William Mclain - 1851 Conrad Richardson m. Frances Matthews - 1849 Samuel Richardson m. Amanda Sclater - 1850 John T. Richardson m. M. R. G Spindle - 1857 When my Bentleys move on to Madison Co. KY the Richardsons show up again though I can't prove that they are of the same family. When my 3X great grandfather made up his will, (February 1831) a Thomas Richardson witnesses the document. Later, Thomas Richardson testifies in court in Madison Co. KY regarding the settlement of the Bentley estate. I can only find one Richardson marrying a Bentley in KY where a William Richardson m. Polly Bentley August 31, 1812. Madison Co. KY. Wish I had more information. David Bentley bentley21@cox.net http://www.genealogy.com/users/b/e/n/David-Bentley/TREE/0001tree.html Searching for ancestors so I know who to blame!

    3. Shellie, Could your John Richardson be connected to Samuel Richardson of Fluvanna Co. VA. He purchased 313 acres from James and Frances Bentley for 50 pounds on July 3, 1801. The land was on the waters of Phils Creek and Long Island Creek and joining the land of Abraham Perkins, Samuel Bethel, Thom. Appleberry, John Lyle, James Crewdson, John Timberlake and William and Pleasant White, where James Bentley formerly lived. This comes from Land Records of Fluvanna Co. VA. 1. Venable, Kent, Richardson, Clark of Fluvanna County
    2. shellkiwi
    3. I am looking for more information regarding a William S. Venable that lived in Fluvanna county in the 1820s. I have a lot of information about William's life, but absolutely no information regarding who his parents were. Although I have been searching for years, I get nowhere. I do have some documents that provide interesting clues, but need some help making the links. Any help would be appreciated. Sarah Richardson, widow of John Richardson, married Robert Kent in 1823. I have copies of a will she made in that same year, and an intent of marriage agreement made between her and Robert Kent a few months later. In both documents, she mentions William S. Venable and William L. Clarke as being executors/administrators. She leaves a large amount of property to both and to a Rebecca Collingsworth. Because William Venable and William Clarke are mentioned so many times and she leaves them land and slaves, I am assuming that they are all related. I am hoping that Sarah may be my key to finding William's parents. However, I have been unable to locate a maiden name or birthdate for Sarah. I do know that she died in 1831 (this is when her will was proven). I have also had no luck finding any information for her first husband, John Richardson. It seems like this family just dropped out of nowhere. William S. Venable was born in Bath Co, VA (?) in 1804. He moved several times in his life, venturing through Kentucky, and dying in Illinois. He married Sarah Eades, daughter of Sheperd Eades, in Albemarle Co, VA. I have more information if it would be helpful. Thanks in advance! Shellie in CO

    1. Maj Robert Poore KIA Gettysburg 7/3/63
    2. Hi Fluvanna, I'm trying to track down some family info on Robert H. Poore of Fluvanna KIA Gettysburg 7/3/1863 m. Janetta Magruder date of marriage and any children might be useful--whatever. My purpose---I'm trying to identify a near illegible grave stone at Maplewood Cemetery in Charlottesville (the child stone encased in the tree for those familiar with the Cemetery). It is in a Magruder family section where Janetta's parents are buried (Sarah and Allan B.). The stone reads JULIAN BANK__?__ (perhaps Bankhead) infant son of ______?_____J. Poor__?_ the rest illegible Thanks Sue I'm just taking a wild guess that Julian is a Poore and the only Poore connection I have to the Magruder section is Janetta.
