She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas L. and Myrtle Lucas Atkins; sisters, Carlista A. Blankenship and Bernice Adkins. Surviving are her loving and devoted husband, Thurman M. Epperly; daughters, Deana Stoner and fiance, Ed Perrin, Susan Conner and husband, Elvin; granddaughters, Shannon Carranza and Krista Conner; three great-grandchildren, Shane Carranza, Jasmine Sydney Rachael Brewer and Quinton Brown; and sister, Mildred A. Smith. Services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Russell Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery in Roanoke County. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Disease, Roanoke Chapter, 2728 Colonial Ave., S.W., Suite #2, Roanoke, Va. 24015.
