The more stories that I hear about hurricanes & tornados, guess I'll take my chances with the moving earth. Walton. Back in 1995, my folks were still living there, right on Cinco Bayou...as Hurricane Opal came through. We were in Virginia at the time and I called Dad to tell him to get everything out of the ground floor because the water was going to rise. He assured me that all was o.k. because he put the furniture up on 4 inch blocks! Unfortunately, they had 3 FEET of water go right through the downstairs! Rest of the house was fine, but sure made a BIG mess of the bottom part of the house. Fortunately, the house was sort of a tri-level thing and the bottom part was used mostly for storage. Lost some lovely antiques, though and a cedar chest full of old family photos. I will NOT miss hurricanes! Kat On Feb 12, 2008 4:53 PM, B.
