    3. The woman I boarded with was maybe in 70's and had a grandson. No husband and was one of the streets off of the bvld. by the college. This street was absorbed by the college many years ago. The old building where Bear Market was in across from the old fire station was made into apartments a few years ago. Calvin Whitt was fire chief and seems like the police chief at one time was a Whitt. I'm sure you remember the unsolved murder of the Turpin woman. Was Mick or Mack on main street? What about Piggly Wiggly store in Radford? I worked with Frank Robertsion at RAAP and he worked at one of these grocery stores. I also worked with "Bob" Miller that lived in east Radford that killed his wife and then himself. At least they still have the movie theater on main street. No Radford today is not like it was in the 1940-1970 years.
