    3. Buttermilk was one of my mama's greatest pleasures! Instead of cake and ice cream for desert, she would often crumble up a chunk of corn bread in a bowl and cover it with cold buttermilk. I never developed a taste for it myself, but on the other hand, my mother lived to be 91 years old, so maybe I should go get some! On Jan 9, 2008 12:49 PM, B.
