    2. Hi all, I am hungry now!! Can someone tell us how to make this corn bread??? My mother - in - law use to make corn bread in a heavy iron skillet. I tried to make it and it never turned out right. I would always tell her how good it was, my husband misses her Cornbread & Milk (buttermilk ) Beans & Fat back, Wilted lettuce salad.     3. My mother died in 73 and I did not take cookin' lessins from her. What I do remember of her wondeful bread, corn and biscuits, was the buttermilk and "drippins" used in the corn bread and for neither did she do the precise measuring we do today. And the only vessel she ever used for cornbread was a very used cast iron skillet, in the oven. Biscuits formed from using a glass and of course there was always a pone, one large lump of dough not large enough for two biscuits.
