    2. Thanks for hints. The corn bread recipe that my husbands Mom made by memory was one used by Mattie Veril Thompson. I always wondered why the she never used any oil or eggs in the batter. Always came out perfect. Hope mine turns out this time. I will try all the recipes and hints. Will let you know how if I have to throw it out to the birds.
