Paula, The older Kelley's School is probably the original building which sat about 100 feet behind the Kelley's School building that exists today. This building looks to be older than cir 1877. I suspect that a school was on this site several years before the land was deeded to the county. I went to Paynes Creek School for 3 three years (1947 -1949) before they closed the one room schools.
