    3. Genevieve, I think you visited this cemetery. Can you give this lady the GPS for it? Mary ----- Original Message ----- From: Rena Worthen To: Mary C Williams Sent: Friday, April 04, 2008 9:36 PM Subject: Fw: Eanes Cemetery This is the lady who needs the Info. Thank's Rena ----- Original Message ----- From: June Martin To: 'Rena Worthen' Sent: Friday, April 04, 2008 8:26 PM Subject: RE: Eanes Cemetery The webpage is www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/VA floyd/floyd.htm and you are listed as Floyd County Coordinator. The area on the webpage is down the middle part of the page after the Death Record Images and the funeral records of Mr. Marion Thomas Hall. The listing for FCVA Master Burial List is the list with my ancestors and it states Eanes Cemetery. Burrell H. Eanes is my Great Grandfather. My Great Grandmother is also listed and some of their children. My grandfather is also listed but the name is wrong. He is listed as Oephus F. Eanes but the birth and death dates are the same. His nickname was Cephus but his name was Stephen Frazier Eanes, Everything listed for him was Cephus Frazier. Sorry I know you didn’t ask for history but I do appreciate anything you can tell me. The part of Floyd County my family came from was Terrys Fork. We would really like to find where the home place was located but once we get to VA we’ll work on that. Really like to find the cemetery and from what I have been told the homeplace was close by. Thanks again for any help you can give me. Do you have any idea where the Eanes Cemetery is in Floyd County? I’m planning a trip to Floyd this summer and if you can provide any information I would be very appreciative. Thanks for this website, it has been most informative. June Eanes-Martin juneanes@etcmail.com cell number 770-265-8049

    3. To: Ms. Jean Martin I was born on Mattox Mt. the next ridge over from Eanes Mt./Lick Ridge and part of our place was bought from one of the Martins. Since I left Floyd County and never moved back after going into service in WW2 I kind of lost track of some of the old landmarks like where some of the people lived. Floyd Agee family, Mose Poff and wife, the arsenic mine property are a few that I think I could locate the places. Of course Mt. View Church and the Methodist church are still there I believe. A lot of the older generation called it Eanes Mt. instead of Lick Ridge. Mill Run creek is at bottom of Eanses Mt./Lick Ridge and Mattox Mt. My reply is mostly because of early memories I have of the area. Edgar L. 3. Hi List, I've had a busy week-end, including house guests, so am just getting to my computer. When I researched this cemetery, I did not have my GPS and have not returned to the Eanes Cemetery to take a reading. However, I have replied personally to this lady and given her address and phone number of the Smiths on whose property the Eanes Cemetery is located. She's going to love it - it's one of the most beautiful we've been to.
