WOW - what a sight. I tried the L of G website and I must say, for someone who can find their way around a computer, I found that site just a little difficult. I found the death records index and ended up with 90+ records for Reeds from Floyd County. What shocked me was the number of children, there were so many. The dates of death range from 1853-1893, and the cause of death is listed. I'm sure most of the genealogists out there have seen all this, but this was a real find to me. I haven't been able to tear myself away from it. My sister is the genealogist in the family, I just dapple in it. When we cleaned the Charlie Reed cemetery we found three children, two sisters and a brother that all died close to the same time and I found out on this website that they died from diphtheria. Keep in mind, that the information is only as good as the person entering it. I found a George listed as a female and a one year and eight year old listed as farmers. I'm sure some of the writing on the records is difficult to read also. If any of you haven't visited this site, I highly recommend it. If you want to know anything about a Reed death, I made an index from the list and I can look it up for you. Rena, thanks for telling us about it.
