I have been on the lookup section about the History of Floyd County. It people and places numerous times and no one will answer. There are pages in this book that mention James Thompson and his wife but I cannot buy the book and no one will answer my email. All of your links must be borken because no one answers. James Thompson was my GGGGGrandfather and I would like to know about him. I cannot find out who his parent were or who Salliie Renfros parents were. Can someone please help me find out about my ancestors. Carroll Co. or Montgomery Co. have not been any more helpful either. Fort Bend Texas has gone out ov their way to answer my questions. Bonnie, there is little on Thompson in Dr. Woods book, " Floyd County, A History of it's People and Places." Nothing which would explain who James Thompson's or Sallie Renfro's parents were. I do not see either mentioned in the index. Page 15 mentions Sally Barnard d/o Isham married James Thompson, no date. On same Page it states Elizabeth Thompson, d/o Nathaniel Thompson of Carroll County, married James Barnard On page 347, a short paragraph about Rev. Nathaniel Thompson; "Elder Nathaniel Thompson served his day and generation in the fervency and zeal which characterizes one as a true servant of God." I do not know if any Thompson researchers have discovered who the parents were, or where they came from and many have been researching long before I started. The marker in the cemetery states. "Born North or South Carolina." I do not remember seeing your request on the Floyd list, though we have "talked" previously. I am sure no one would intentionally ignore you. The book, "Floyd-Its people and Places" can be purchased at the Wilderness Road musuem in Newbern, Va. Its been a while since I purchased it so I don't remember the price. Either the Wilderness Road Museum or the New River historical society has a list of the books they carry on the website. The Pulaski, Va site has links to those.
