    3. My Great Grandfather Robert T Janney was born in 1842 at Silverleaf Floyd County Virginia and died in 1916 in Zanesville Ohio he laid in an unmarked grave for 82 years. In 1998 I obtained a Government Military Marker for him. We had a special ceremony with confederate re-enactors, and a 21 gun salute. His wife also did not have a marker, I sent a flyer to family members and raised money to buy her a marker. My aunt had been to Floyd County and she brought back dirt from there. As the ceremony started a fellow stepped out of the crowd and sang "Carry Me Back To Old Virginny". When my uncle spread the Floyd County dirt on the graves he again sang; "I wish I was in Dixie". There were about 150 people at the ceremony and about 30 in period costume. I have been on this list a long time and don't chime in much. but enjoy reading all about you folks. Robert T Janney was the son of Burwell and Mary "Polly" Radford Janney.
