Mr. and Mrs. Rierson and two daughters of Roanoke were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ferris, also Mr. and Mrs. Troy Conner and little son. Miss India Poff was seen going to the mail box; she is expecting the Salem times. Miss Euia Richards was visiting at A.H. Manning last week. Miss Iva Stump was visiting Mrs. Jack Vest Saturday night and Sunday. K.K. Walton seems to be getting along nicely. Samuel McNeil an family of near Arsenic Mines, spent Saturday night at C.W. Whitenacks. The singing at Pleasant View, taught by Mr. F.M. Pays, closed Saturday night with a large audience. He is now conducting a singing at Red Oak Grove. Supt. I.L. Epperly was visiting at Double Spring's school recently. We are glad to have our former pastor G.W. Woodward returned to us. Misses Irene Wirt and Nannie Walton were visiting Miss Annie Martin Saturday night and Sunday. Joe Payne, Willie and Luther Gillespie and Reece Sowers were calling on Carlos Poff Sunday. Suther Gillespie was well pleased Sunday afternoon after meeting with A.B. Alderman. A LONELY BOY (December 18,1924) ================ FROM APPLE PIE RIDGE Stringing telephone wire seems to be the order of the day. The wedding bells are ringing. Misses Lucy and Meda Epperly entertained quite a number of their friends Sunday. Those present were Misses Lara Bishop, lona Edwards, Clara Naff and Alma Epperly, Messrs. Rigby Walton, Peyton Lester, Brainerd Edwards and Leonard and Garfield Epperly. Mr Hugo Boothe attended services at St. Mathew Sunday. Misses Ila and Allie Lester visited Miss Arizona Edwards Sunday.
