Several from around here attended preaching at Copper Valley Sunday. We were sorry to hear of the death of Mrs. Bettie Bishop, also the death of Mr. Cal Duncan. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Akers and daughter Arba were visiting at Mr. Humphrey Scaggs Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Dink Scaggs and children were visiting at Mrs. Peradine Scaggs Saturday night and Sunday. Most everybody seems to have colds, since the first frost. It bit most everybody as they were not prepared for it. Pulling corn and digging potatoes seem to be the order of the day. Several attended meeting at Silver Leaf Sunday. The mud hole school is progressing nicely under the management of Miss Ina Bowman as teacher. Mr. Bernard Peters has returned home from W.Va. to spend a few days. Mrs. Moses Hall of Matoaka, W.Va. is home spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. Mollie Kelley. Those calling on Miss Rachel Thomas the fourth Sunday were: Blanche Lawrence, Messrs. Mowyer Thompson, Hubert Hale, Field Graham and Tyier Pralin. Mr. Henry Peters is wearing two socks on the same foot, as he has a girl stopping with now. Well, news is getting scare so I will ring off and come again. Epperly and purchased the Dr. Howard mill farm; also I.L. Epperly has purchased the T.W. Williams old home place. We would be glad to see the erection of a wagon bridge across the creek at this place for many people have endangered their lives by attempting to cross during high water.
