There had been considerable interest recently in photo documenting various cemeteries in the area. Also I note that Rena has been spending a lot of time in Richmond making copies of various documents. Film cameras and Xerox copies are expensive. However I have been able to use a cheap 6 mB digital camera (Canon A540) and make excellent quality coipes of paper documents and they are a lot bettet than a xerox copy. A 6mB camera gives about 150 dpi resolution for a 8.5 x 11 inch page which is adequate for OCR software to convert a printed page into a word procesing document. I have used my camera with very good success. Since Rena and the others documenting cemeteries share their work with all of us, I would like to suggest that we all chip in and get a camera for them to use. I suspect we can get a good camera, tripod and other accesseries for $200 or less. If any member of the forum is interested in this project please contact me off the forum and we will discuss it.
