    3. Carolyn, If a person was killed in WWII, his name is automatically entered on the honor roll by NARA. In addition, if he is buried overseas, his name is entered again by the ABMC who maintains the overseas cemeteries. Only the names of those who survive the war have to be entered by the veteran himself or a family member. I've probably listed over a 100 names since it opened in 2004. Go to the WWII Memorial site and click on Registry. To search the registry, type in last name, first and state. Do a search of your WWII relatives and you may find a family member has already entered their name on the honor roll. When you enter a name, it's nice to enter the assignments, battles, medals, etc., but not required. Basically, you only need the veterans (1941-1946) name and hometown. www.wwiimemorial.com If I can be of help, please let me know.
