I have done little work on the Pratts but will be in Virginia next week and hope to have a day to do some research at the Floyd courthouse and library. Genevieve - thanks for the information, I'll be sure to let you know if I find out anything more about James Pratt. Olive married John McGrady and they had two children: Sarah Ann and Ira Jackson McGrady. Ira was my g-g-grandfather. John died in the Civil War as a prisoner of war at Camp Morton in Indianapolis, IN. There is confusion about Olive's birth date. She was older than John but I have conflicting information about her actual birth date so that is something I hope to look in to next week.
