Paula Kelly Ward & Janice Smyth have provided me with photos of the Vest Cemetery. This is only part of the inturments in this large cemetery. If anyone has more photos of this cemetery, i'll add them between power outages and work. Edgar do we have a complete listing of this cemetery. I thought I had one, I wanted to add if I can get one. Thanks to everyone involved in this large file. If you have problems with this Paul, I'll edit it to smaller pages later. http://www.rootsweb.com/~vafloyd/VestCemetery.html
Rena, Janice and Paula: This is exquisitely well done. We all thank all three of you for this hard work and wonderful information. On viewing the Vest Cemetery, the first photo was of Ausborne Paul Kelley, a World War II veteran. When I visit a cemetery and see a WWII vets marker, I always make a note to check if the veteran is listed on the honor roll at the World War II Memorial in Washington. If the name is not listed, I try to contact a family member and get permission to enter his name in their honor. I think all WWII veterans should be on this honor roll, but they will only be listed if a family member enters their name. Thank you Brian C. Kelley, Grandson of Ausborne Paul Kelley (WWII Vet) for honoring your grandfather. Hi, Everybody, I just came back from an out-of-town trip and caught up on my e-mail. Rena, thank you so much for putting the Vest Cemetery photos on the Floyd website. I hope these photos will help others. The cemetery is so large that I didn't get to take pictures of all the gravestones. I tried--and think I found--to photograph, all the Kelley and Peters graves in the Vest Cemetery. I think you can tell from the pictures that The Vest Cemetery is well taken care of. If anyone would like to contribute to the care of the cemetery, e-mail me and I will send information about who to contact. And Ken, Ausborne Paul Kelley is my father; Roger Kelley, who is buried next to him, is my first cousin. Brian C. Kelley, whom you mentioned regarding the WWII Memorial website, is my nephew. Brian is not a subscriber to the Floyd County list, but I will pass your message on to him. In fact, I didn't know that Brian had put Daddy's name and information on the WWII Memorial website until you mentioned it, so thank you. Thank you again, Rena, for all the work you do. I know it takes a lot of your time to upload pictures and other information to the websites, and we appreciate you so much.
