George Sowers is my 3rd great grandfather and my family will be representing three generations and possible four if my great grandson attends. Thanks, Ken "Private George Sowers (1750-1834) served on the Continental Line during the American Revolution, and was buried in the historic Zion Lutheran Cemetery, in Floyd. Some years ago, his headstone disappeared and ended up in a yard sale. It was returned to the church by the buyer and apparently forgotten. It was recently re-discovered in the church basement and has been reset. The restored grave site will be re-dedicated on Saturday, August 15th at 10:00 AM. Private Sowers will be honored by a ceremony attended by at least three generations of direct descendents. The Fincastle Resolution of the Sons of the American Revolution Honor Guard, Roanoke and The local VFW chaplain, Rev. Ronald Seco will officiate.
