Glenn, Coming from Maryland, you will likely be arriving on route 8. Just before you get to Floyd on your left is THE BREAD BASKET. Just don't lose your head in there with all her goodies! Also, at the light in Floyd, turn right and Food Lion is just a block down. And Mary mentioned Slaughter's Supermarket about a mile further. They are great. My husband & I and my sister and her husband are planning on being in Floyd that Thursday and Friday and may be able to stay for part of Saturday. We will be traveling from San Diego and we wanted to go through Floyd to see where our Mom was born and some of the sights I've been hearing about all these years.
