Kat, I am also interested in seeing a list of the prisoners. My Great Grandfather John Burl Pate was captured twice during the war. He was exchanged once and was captured again. He was in Maryland when the war ended and didn't get home until August. I have always assumed he was at Point Lookout. We already knew that Alexander Maness, one of my mother in law's several times great grandfathers, died there, but I have now learned that Madison P. Fulcher, my husband's g-g grandfather, was taken there in the later part of 1864 and was a prisoner there at the end of the Civil War, released in June of 1865. He was one of the fortunate ones who actually survived that difficult place! How many other folks on the list have ancestors that were imprisoned at Point Lookout? Has anyone ever visited there? I would like to get up there and tour the area one of these days.
