Thanks to all who have been helping solve the mystery. ================ 1. It appears from the records that John Nofsinger was not married in 1786 nor was he married in 1788 when Mary Spangler referred to him as a "loving friend" but was married to one of Mary’s daughter by 1812 when Mary referred to him as my son-in-law. 2. A deed dated 1808 shows John Noffsinger and his wife Mary. >From these data I assume that he and one of Mary’s daughters was married between 1788 and 1808. 3. John Noffsinger and his wife moved to Muhlenburg, KY sometime after 1794. 4. Perhaps a land deed dated between 1788 and 1808 will help solve the mystery. I would appreciate it if anyone happens to be searching Franklin Co., Bedford or Botetourt Co., VA records between 1788 and 1808 take a look and see when a wife shows up with ole John and maybe her name. Records in Kentucky show his wife name as Mary but the question remains was her name Mary Hannah or Mary Elizabeth. 5. DAR records which are usually quite accurate says John married Hannah daughter of Daniel and Mary Spangler. Jack Spangler Ellicott City, MD
