July 10- Regular meeting of the Forum - The Bedford Museum Genealogy and History Forum will hold its regular monthly meeting second Saturday July 10 at 1:30PM at the Bedford Museum and Genealogical Library, 201 East Main St., next door to the court house. The meeting will be on the third floor (elevator provided) and is open and free to everyone. This month our guest will be Steve Marshall from Warrenton, VA who has been researching his paternal great-grandfather, Robert Winston Marshall of Bedford County. His research also includes Ann M. Marshall (widow of Robert), along with her sons Lafayette D. and Ossie O. Marshall who sold 115 acres on Reed Creek to a James Chilton. If time allows we will continue our discussion of obscure community names. The list is growing and everyone enjoys this discussion. John Cox reports there will be descendants from all four of the original Dinkle brothers present. September 11 - Kitty Buford Pendleton of the last Buford family to live in the Pascahl Buford home in Montvale will discuss the Buford family and her experiences in Montvale. October 9 - Betty Creasy Hostetter will discuss the Creasy family and her childhood in Bedford City. November 13 - Field trip to the log cabin home of Thomas Buford and guided tour by owner Lowell Foutz.
