2/27/1926 Charleston Daily Mail BLUEFIELD, Feb. 27 ­ The funeral of Mrs. Cynthia Cole, grandmother of A. J. Cole, of this city, took place in Floyd County, Va. Mrs. Cole was 96 years old, and the mother of 12 children, seven of whom are living, the oldest being 79 years of age. Mrs. Cole, who passed away this week, was a woman remarkably preserved for her years. At the age of 86, she was a victim of a runaway accident, sustaining a broken arm and being dragged a distance of 100 feet. Her vitality was such, however, she recovered from the effects of these injuries. She was able to read without glasses, and her step was more alert than those of her own children.
