Jeane....Joyce and I are not that far south, we are in the middle of the state...lets say around Stockton and not to far from Sacramento. We get a little shack once in a while but...nothing we can not live with. I use to live in the Mojave Desert and we would thik that one of these days we would have beach front property! I'm checking in from Bath County, Virginia - we just got power back about an hour ago, been without for 1-1/2 days. Our temperature here this morning at 7 was -5 with windchill of -19. We had wind here that was more like a tornado, also had fires where the lines broke and sparked. My husband (teacher - no school today) took me to my doctor's appointment this morning and it looks like a disaster area here. Bath County, Va. is nothing but mountains, next to West Va. But we have much to be thankful for, no damage to our house, we have a woodstove, so we had heat and I can heat things on it to eat. Hope everyone else is fine.
