Carol..try this: g.dulaney@comcast.net That is Gerry Dulaney's email address..there is no picture of Allen Albert Dulaney or Cordel;ia n my photo page... Ole Paul keep the mail comin' to Ole Paul
Paul Do you know how to get in touch with Sandy & Gerry Dulaney that own the Dulaney site where your pictures are? I have tried e-mailing but I don't think my e-mail to them is working right. Not sure what the e-mail instructions mean to do. Or if you are in direct contact with them what I want to know is whether they may have a picture of Allen Albert Dulaney and his wife Cordelia Palmer (they are my great grandparents). My brother and I are getting ready for an auction of personal property of my father at the end of May and there are a ton of pictures in the house that neither my brother or I know who they are. No, we aren't throwing them away, just yet anyway. Without a clue as to whether they are Raders, Bishops, Dulaneys and extended families of those main lines, we are at a lost as to who they might be. So a good lesson in this, mark your pictures so future generations will have a clue. Thanks for your help. Thank you. I'd like to run up to the Cove Hollow Cemetery, but first I have to finish a roll of microfilm that i'm working on for you all. It has to be finished before April 30. I have 3 more years to save...and I have a few hundred photos I need to link before I take any more. I worked some on them tonight, but not finished with the notes to go with them, so I can't send the link yet. I don't deserve all these wonderful Things. I am just doing what I love to do. You all made my day this noon when Mr. Jack Spangler and his dear sweet wife stopped by the Fincastle Library with my present. There is nothing more one could wish for . I got my picture made accepting the present from you all. How Can I Thank You All? This will be a big help on the Tombstone Photo Project that the Botetourt Genealogy Club is working on. Rena, I don't usually tell you that you are wrong...but in this case, you ARE! You DEFINITELY deserve your gifts and much, much more. All that you do for the rest of us has a value that can't be measured. If someone has a chance, stop in the museum in the former nursing home in Elliston and speak with Mr. Poole. He and a group are renovating and documenting the cemeteries in that section of Montgomery County, so he should certainly be aware of any that might be in the path. Yes Edgar, Cove Hollow Cemetery is the one i'm thinking about. I have never been able to find it, so i'm not familiar with it's location. At any rate, I just thought about it, as I looked at the map of the proposed new project. Thank you for clearing that up. I don't know of any other cemetery other than the one near the lumber yard on the other side of rt 11. Thank's Edgar. Is this the James Collins family that lived down near the check school, according to some old deeds I have traced around the check area? The best I could figure was that they lived down behind Hay Mason's home. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary C Williams" <marycwms@verizon.net> To: <vafloyd@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 07, 2008 4:42 PM Subject: Re: [VAFLOYD] Collins Family > Paul, this is what I have. > First I have a question about his name and wonder if I can safely go with > Eli. Paul, this is what I have. First I have a question about his name and wonder if I can safely go with Eli. See below my notes under his name. John Spangler lists his name as Elkanah. The marriage record lists it as Ell. Occupation: Blacksmith Barbara Stanley says someone, probably a family member, told her his name was Elmer H. "Bud" Collins, but she neglected to cite the source. His name has been shown many ways on the following sources, Birth 1868 - E. Collins Census 1870 - Elhanon Census 1880 - Elhannon Census 1890 - Eli H. Marriage 1891 - Ell H. A few observations: 1. Higher the educated, lower the character. 2. Wealthier a person the less humbleness. 3. An Agnostic person the least foundation on reason or justification for their actions. 4. The more notorious a person the least respect for others. 5. The healthier a person the easier to have whimsies. 6. Those who have property or assets that came by inherting, the more selfishness. 7. Less educated the better character. 8. The poorer a person, the more humble. 9. Christian or trying to live a life for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, can always give a clear cut answer to any question. 10. Those least recognized give respect to others. 11. Those with illness or disease less likely to complain. 12. Those that work and live from payday to payday will most always share to the needy. Edgar L. Vest PSALM 100:3 Know ye that the Lord he is God:
