    3. WOW - what a sight. I tried the L of G website and I must say, for someone who can find their way around a computer, I found that site just a little difficult. I found the death records index and ended up with 90+ records for Reeds from Floyd County. What shocked me was the number of children, there were so many. The dates of death range from 1853-1893, and the cause of death is listed. I'm sure most of the genealogists out there have seen all this, but this was a real find to me. I haven't been able to tear myself away from it. My sister is the genealogist in the family, I just dapple in it. When we cleaned the Charlie Reed cemetery we found three children, two sisters and a brother that all died close to the same time and I found out on this website that they died from diphtheria. Keep in mind, that the information is only as good as the person entering it. I found a George listed as a female and a one year and eight year old listed as farmers. I'm sure some of the writing on the records is difficult to read also. If any of you haven't visited this site, I highly recommend it. If you want to know anything about a Reed death, I made an index from the list and I can look it up for you. Rena, thanks for telling us about it. 3. Maybe we can help identify some of the photos. If we coyld post scans on the Floyd site, Maybe a relative will come forth. It worked before. I can make a page for them. 3. Carol, You're so very right - LABEL THOSE PHOTOS!! If you reach the point that you want to throw them away, please think about donating them to the Floyd County Historical Society. It's remotely possible that somebody, sometime, might identify them. Even so, rather than tossing them out completely, they're beautiful for the dress/auto/home/whatever of the era. They can be put in the upcoming (someday!) museum with the family from whence they came named, which would be a lead. 3. Carol, I know what you mean. My mother whom I loved dearly, had a bad habit of puting cute saying under the picture in her albums and not namem=s. I was able to find out whot the 2 were in one pictur she had mared "Virginia 1921". I had made contact with one of Dad's 1st cousins and she told me who they were. One was my Dad and the other 2 wer her and one of her brothers. I don't have anyone left who can indetify any of them. I am the oldest that is left of my fmaily and have no aunts or uncles and only a very few 1st cousins left. So I would incourage any one who has blank pictures to get older relatives to look at them to identify those in the pictures.
