Dear List, For a few years I'd kept a query from "Ginnypin" on the Janney family. I've just met a Janney and my email to "Ginnypin" re this family has not been answered. I've noted that she/he has not posted to our Floyd List for a while. Possibly the email address has changed, but if you are she, or know her/him, please let her know I wish to contact her. Thank you. Genevieve
William, Simpsons was named for the community's first postmaster. William Simpson became the first postmaster in April 1823. The last postmaster at Simpsons, Clyne Angle, had a record of all the postmasters. He maintained the Simpsons post office in a back corner of his general store until the post office officially was closed in August 1979. Bristol, TN. Bristol is a twin city, the state line runs thru the main street. Va on one side, TN on the other. West Main divides and The TN side goes to Kingsport and the VA side goes to Gate City on to KY. Would you like some of the Williams pictures? As far as I know Bill was the last of that generation. I am a little late, as usually! but I have been reading all the good wishes that some of you have sent to the list. I just wanted you to know how wonderful our Easter was here in Modesto, Ca. We always went to grandpa and grandma Quesenberry's for lunch and our Eaters church service the Baptist church in Waterford, which is about 20 miles from Modesto. This afternoon we went to the cemetery and put flowers on our parents and grandparents graves. I had tears and I think there were a few sniffles from my brothers too. A older couple walked by us as we were putting flowers, they stopped and read the names on our parents stones, and said Quesenberry, didn't they have a ------we said Yes and they talked about knowing them and my Grandparents too.
