This Moses GREEN was the husband of Harriet BASYE, daughter to James BASYE and Elizabeth TAYLOR. Elizabeth was the daughter of Joseph TAYLOR and Peggy ?. Peggy TAYLOR died in Fauquier county around 1831, devising property to the children of Moses GREEN. As they were minors, Moses had to come to the Fauquier court to be appointed guardian on their behalf. His son, Aylette GREEN, was my husband's greatgrandfather. This Moses GREEN was one of the thirteen children of William GREEN and Mary ? of Culpeper county and the grandson of James GREEN and Elizabeth TAPP. I have found no connection between this James GREEN family and the Robert GREEN line of Culpeper, although they share many of the same given names.
