    1. Re: BALL Bromfield Withers,
    2. I have not seen Ball Cousins and AM unfamiliar with it. The info that I posted was from Samuel Ball's will. I do believe that most people are basing this idea on Hayden's genealogies which as we know was rife with errors. I do know that WIlliam Ball was living on the land that he had inherited from his father in Culpeper and given the proximity to Fauquier that part always made sense tome. I will go to the library of VA and chack to see if there is will of Wm but I believe that I have checked this before . I purposefully posted this to the list because although I have been very proud of the fact that supposedly I was related to Geo. Washington it is more important to have the facts straight. If you will consider sharing the research that points to this marriage please do so. As I remember there were no deeds from Wm that stated his wife's name But I will go check. Thanks for the input( my family is going to be so mad if I disprove this!!!! Well at least I can still point to being distantly related to Geo Mason). I realize that this is the holiday season and may not be the best time to do this so there is no hurry. BTW Samuel Ball's will names his wife as Anna Catherine. The most efficient way to disprove this may be through the slaves that Samuel left to Wm. I Know that there was a Wm Ball in Culpeper who was married By 1765 to Frances Slaughter Daughter of Francis Slaughter . I presume that you have this info or perhaps it is straightened out in the Ball Cousins. Thanks for the input. Susan
