    3. Ok, then, I need someone to tell me which William Ball married Frances Slaughter in Culpeper c 1730, and which William Ball had son Wiliam who moved to SC and m1 Lilly Hitt and m2 Sarah Martin (as per one of the several BALL charts floating around)? And, did Samuel's Margaret marry John Barrow as stated in Va Gen's? (Evidence, please, not guesses, hearsay or assumptions.) All you BALL buffs out there, don't you laugh!!!! :-) I'm trying to get all the BALL families 'somewhat' documented for my database, so I can make sure mine don't get confused with the wrong lines(there are many)....but I'm not actively researching them all, so I depend on you all who are. I realize a lot of the published Ball data is junk, which is too bad. -Nancy -----Original Message----- From: SUZYBC@aol.com [mailto:SUZYBC@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, December 10, 2003 10:49 PM To: VAFAUQUI-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: BALL Bromfield Withers, In a message dated 12/8/03 9:37:46 AM Eastern Standard Time, krehztim@yahoo.com writes: > 4 Samuel Ball (1686-1751) m. 3. Nancy and list, I assure you NONE of the BALL researchers are going to laugh at someone trying to sort them all out! I'm glad Mrs. Kinsey did the groundwork for me and I followed up by ordering some wills -- all transcribed in a pre-Windows program so I can't cut / paste to share. I do plan to retype when I get a chance. All you BALL buffs out there, don't you laugh!!!! :-) I'm trying to get all the BALL families 'somewhat' documented for my database, The William Ball who married Martha Brumfield -- per _Ball Cousins_ by Margaret Kinsey, 1981 TX -- had these children: 1. John b. 2 Oct 1742 Pennsylvania d. 1806 Warrenton, Virginia. He married Sarah Ellen Payne of Stafford Co. VA 6 Nov. 1767. [I plan a future message to the list about him -- with questions -- this is my direct line.] 2. Susannah b. early 1740s in PA d. by 1826. She married 1st Robert Fisher and 2nd Peter Kemper 18 Oct 1788 Fauquier Co. VA -- Kinsey page 170. Her children all with Fisher. June 1774 Robert Fisher purchased land on west side main branch of Licking run adj. (the above) John Ball. Robert d. before 18 Oct 1788 when Susannah married Kemper. 3. Thomas b. 1754 PA d. 1 March 1820 Lincoln Co. Kentucky m. Mary Reed 1781 in KY [ ? that part of VA that became KY] Kinsey pages 191-193 4. Elizabeth b. 6 Sept 1756 d. 2 Aug 1797 m. Isaac Supples 13 May 1777 [_PA Pioneer_ by Gans for specific dates -- p. 204 Kinsey] 5. Sarah d. bef 9 March 1829 Montgomery, PA m. John Daniels 20 July 1775 Kinsey page 189 -- death date from date her will was probated 6. Martha d. 1791 m. Moses Yocum [Kinsey quotes _A Pennsylvania Pioneer_ by Gans, p. 131 for Martha's death date] They lived in the Upper Merion twp of Montgomery County PA in 1787 adjacent Isaac and Elizabeth Supplee. [p. 208 Kinsey] 7. William b. 1762 d. 1800 m. Ann Keas 9 Feb 1788 Fauquier Co. VA [note: she possibly Mary Ann Keas] Kinsey p. 166: Ann Keas was the daughter of Margaret Keas; Isaac Keas was witness to marriage bond. This William MIGHT BE the one who started an iron furnace in Falmouth, VA and died before he finished -- his son had to complete it. Again, Mrs. Kinsey used the distribution of Joseph Ball's estate (died intestate 28 April 1821 Philadelphia and without children) in sorting through the various BALL kin. Those wanting part of his 'million dollars' had to prove (to the various lawyer's satisfaction) their connection back to his aunts and uncles. The William Ball who married Martha Brumfield was an uncle to Joseph Ball, the millionarie. Linda
