    1. Roll Call Benjamin Neale, my brick wall.

    3. My brick wall is finding the names of the parents of Benjamin Neale, b: 13 Feb. 1760 in Fauquier County, Virginia. At the time there were several (more than two) Benjamin Neale's in the county. It appears that his mother's name was Mary, but the maiden name is unknown. Wills and other documents from the archives indicate that his father's name was Joseph and he had the following siblings. Sarah, m: Dennis Warner, 02/20/1793, Anne, m: Henry Dawes, 07/07/1796, Mary, m: John Wilkinson, 06/27/1797, Judith, m: George B. Maddox, 01/26/1795, Joanna, m: Jeremiah Foster, 07/20/1797, and Catey, m: Augustus McDaniel, 02/03/1799. I think he had an Uncle named Matthew that was married to Mary Burgess. My Benjmain died 15 April 1853, Shelby Co, IN. He married Delilah Barton, 4 Feb. 1807 in Adams Co, OH. I think this was the second marriage - the first was to Christianna Earsom about 1785 in Hampshire Co, VA. He served in the Continential Army as a militiaman under the command of Capt. James Atwell, who was also from Fauquier county. He also returned to service later as a replacement for his father. Benjamin and Delilah Barton Neal had the following children: 1. Joseph N. A. Neal, b: 11 Jan 1806. (It is possible that Joseph's mother was Christianna Earsom rather than Delilah). 2. Mary Neal, b: ca 1810, m: William Bird. 3. Matthew. 4. Richard Benjmain Neal, b: ca 1812, m: Mary Charlotte France, 01/25/1836, Muhelberg Co, KY. 5. Thomas T. Neal, m: Eliza (_______). 6. Joshua Neal. 7. John Neal. 8 Mahala Neal, m: Eli Thomas, 09/05/1844, Rush County, IN. 9. Malinda Neal, b: 9 Feb 1818, Woodbeck C. Lowe, 09/27/1838, Hancock Co, IN. This Benjamin was buried in the Old Sugar Creek Cemetery, Shelby Co, IN and Delilah is also buried there although she died in Washington, D.C. Another Benjamin Neal of that time ( may be related) was married to Anstis Luttrell, d/o Richard Luttrell. I think that Benjamin died in Fauquier Co, VA. Anone on this list have infromation of this family? Help needed and appreciated. Rollie J. Neal
