Exactly -- I thought long and hard on how to convert the graphical charts to simple text, even starting a gedcom. But, I just settled on a format I've seen used in a few books. The very first generation is (1). That person's children are all (2). From there, the (3)s are children of the very previous (2). Etc. etc. Hope this helps.
