Not known what was contained in page 1 Mentions Thomas Barton Jr. assignee of said Thomas Barton plantation & 100 ac situate on NE side of Quanticutt Creek being same 100 ac. In Dyes patent. 6 Jul 1697. We can assume by this that Thomas Barton Sr. was dead by 6 Jul 1697. This patent also recorded in Stafford Co. Land Patent book 2. Stafford Co. deed book 1722-1728 p. 507. Thomas Barton to Abraham Farrow 4 Apr 1728. Thomas referred to as Sr. and as a planter. Involves 400 ac. Of land originally in 2,000 ac. Granted to Capt. John Lord by Gov. Berkeley lying on Quantico Creek, then when granted in Westmoreland County, not in Stafford, as by patent bearing date 27 Sep 1664, then transferred to Thomas Bourne of Stafford in 1665. Land then transferred to Thomas Barton Sr., father of this Thomas Barton Sr., in Jul 1678. Letter from G. Mason dtd 16 Jun 1700: �On Sunday 16th 3 o�clock Afternoon, 20 or 30 Indians came to Thomas Barton�s. Thomas, wife and brother abroad. Indians killed Barton�s three children and a man and his wife and three children staying with Barton�s children. An orphan boy playing in the yard escaped to a neighbors. Prince William Co. deed book I, b. 317. Grace Barton deed to her children ment. she was the widow of Thomas Barton, dec�d. Dtd 15 Aug 1732. Also mentions children Lydia Drummond, William Barton. Lydia under 16 years of age, William under 21. The author believes Thomas Barton and Burr Harrison came to Virginia together. She believes Grace, widow of Thomas Barton, to have been Harrison�s daughter, as Thomas and Grace had a son named Burr Barton. Several records also mention with Thomas Barton a man named Thomas Whitledge. Thomas was a grandson of Burr Harrison. The first mention in records of Thomas Barton was 9 Sep 1679 from the Virginia Historical Magazine Vol. 1 p. 24-25, in which land owned by Capt.
