These were in Westmoreland Co. There is research being done to try to ferret out all the facts regarding all the 'dangling' Strothers in VA. -Nancy Upshaw Response: I just received a new book (at least for me) by Sue Ann Damron, Land Records of King George County, Virgina, 1721-1743 [Westminster, MD: Willow Bend Books, 1999]. The index lists many references to Strother and a few to Strothers. Also Settle. Also one Hamerick. And one Hamrick. The preface states that King George Co. was formed 1721 from Richmond Co. Those changing boundaries of Virginia counties keep me buying and seeking out MORE books!! And when I have time reading microfilm. The author had done a creditable job of abstracting the land records. However, these abstracts are more than just deeds and powers of attorney. There are apprenticeship records, depositions, bonds, settlement of estate, etc. E.W.Wallace
