I am transcribing an oral history interview with a retired career Navy man who was born in 1930. His stories are so fascinating that we are thinking of publishing his memoirs. As background information I would like to understand the size of the towns he lived in before he joined the Navy at age 17. HELP! Can anyone tell me what the population was (according to the 1940 Census) of the following Virginia towns and cities? I would REALLY appreciate it!
