Hi Harriet, How can I thank you adequately for locating the much needed information on Rhoda and his brother William? I have not thought about the search in Connecticut until I read your email. Now I remember all birthday cards and Christmas cards sent to Daddy every year from someone named "Captain" in New Britain, Connecticut. I would ask Daddy who "Captain" was. He said she was his grandaunt. Thank you very much for the search. I appreciate it greatly. Kind regards, Jean _______ On Thu, 18 Nov 2004 17:14:25 EST LLora90501@aol.com writes: Hi Jean, I checked the US census index for 1850 and found six Rhoda Fergusons (one each in KY, IN, MO, TN and SC), but the only one that makes sense from the description you gave of the family is the following one: Cannan Dist. 23, Litchfield, CT Enumerated on 6 Sep 1850 Roll 42, p. 56b Household 824 John ROOD, 81, male, farmer, $4,500, b.
