    1. Re: [NCCASWEL] Changed Subject: Kincheloes of Caswell Co. NC and of Virginia
    2. If I had searched my notes more thoroughly, I would have identified Mary Simpson nee Kincheloe, formerly of Fairfax Co., VA. As stated previously, she was the wife of Richard Simpson, Sr., who, in Fairfax Co., VA records is called Richard Simpson, Jr. Both Richard, Sr. and Mary died in Caswell Co., NC. These are a few of my notes on Kincheloe, said to be maiden name of Mary Simpson: JOHN KINCHELOE. (Ca. 1695 Northern Neck, VA-ca.1748 Prince William Co., VA) Lived at one time in Stafford Co. on Occoquan & Niapsco (also called Nebasco Creek, Stafford Co.) Later may have lived on Hooe's Creek, which MAY have been in the same vicinity. There is some indication he may have owned land in Richmond Co., all these counties being part of Northern Neck Virginia. They may have owned land in various counties as the family expanded and as the counties divided. According to Lewin Dwinell McPherson, who wrote a Kincheloe family history which he published ca. 1951, John Kincheloe, son of Cornelius Kincheloe, was married to Elizabeth Canterbury. (McPherson says John Kincheloe owned land in Richmond Co. ca 1725 [deed to Anthony Snider]) and later in Stafford Co. (1728-1732) Later in Prince William Co.) My further notes indicate these were some of Mary's siblings (and their spouses, where known) Margaret [Peggy] Kincheloe wife of George Foote, Jr., believed to be of Fauquier Co., VA Cornelius Kincheloe CORNELIUS KINCHELOE II. Cornelius Kincheloe, son of John Kincheloe and brother of Daniel Kincheloe, was baptized in 1721 in North Farnham Parish Richmond Co., VA. "Kincheloe, Cornelius, son of John and Elizabeth Kincheloe, 8 Oct 1721" (George Harrison Sanford King, THE REGISTERS OF NORTH FARNHAM PARISH 1663-1814 AND LUNENBURG PARISH, 1783-1800, RICHMOND COUNTY, VIRGINIA [Fredericksburg, VA, 1966], p. 111.) Daniel Kincheloe [Elizabeth Wickliffe] John Kincheloe [Mary Wickliffe] Elizabeth Kincheloe said to have been married twice: 1. Isaac Davis and 2. Rodham Blanchett Wileman Kincheloe (Name comes from McPherson's genealogy of the Kincheloe family. An e-mal correspondent gives this information: Apparently Wileman Kincheloe married his niece: Mary Kincheloe, dau of John Kincheloe and Milly Butler. Sarah Kincheloe 2 Mar 1762 between William Tyler and Sarah his Wife land conveyed to Sarah Kincheloe who intermarried with said William Tyler (From Prince William County Deed Book 1761-1764; pp. 160-162) And there are probably more Kincheloes whom I have overlooked. With the exception of Mary Kincheloe Simpson, the children of John Kincheloe and Elizabeth Canterbury seem to have remained in Virginia--in or around Northern Neck Virginia. Thanks for your interest.
