    3. I'M GOING FISHIN' y'all. Some of you are probably real tired of me by now but sometimes persistence pays off. I'm looking for the families of Jacob Wilson b. 16 June 1774 in Chester Co. PA m. Margaret King of Union Co. Va. Margaret's mother was a Kearney related to Gen. Phil Kearney. I believe Jacob is the brother to my brick wall John Wilson b. 1772 that married Elizabeth Travers Chinn. Jacob and family were in Prince William Co. near Bull Run as that is where their son John M. Wilson was born in 1811. The other children were James L. Wilson; Oliver H.P. Wilson; R. Adaline Wilson; Mary Wilson (married William B. Shelby) and Jane Wilson. In 1824 the moved to Jefferson Co. Va. (W.Va.) and in 1828 they went to White Co. IL where they stayed with "cousin" Judge William Wilson of the Illinois State Supreme Court. I believe Judge Wilson was not so much a "cousin" but a nephew. Judge Wilson was b. 1794 in Loudoun Co. and married Mary S. DAvidson of Wheeling Va. (W.Va.) I believe his father could be a brother to my John and Jacob Wilson. I also believe that John's father's name is William based on the naming pattern they used back then. If that holds true then Jacob and John are not brothers unless Jacob's first born is not his first born because that would mean his father was John. Judge Wilson's is supposedly 1 of 2 or 3 boys whose father died when they were young and they were left poor to be raised by their mother. However Attorney John Cook took William Wilson under his apprenticeship. Letters written by Elizabeth Chinn Wilson (John's wife) reference twice to an Uncle Jacob Wilson. One of those letters was written to her son Rawleigh who at that time was in White Co. IL. Ruth Wilson Dillon who wrote the Chinn Book believes that Judge William Wilson and John Wilson were related somehow. Judge Wilson's son married a granddaughter of John Wilson's. Jacob's son John M. Wilson became the Clerk of the Circuit Court in 1841 of Richland Co. Illinois. Judge William Wilson's son John Cook Wilson and wife Mary Mears had the following: Mary Ellen (Mrs. A. Chapman) b. 1850; Susan D. (Mrs. James Shipley) b. 1852; William H. b. 1854; Lucy N. ( MRs. Chas Fazier) b. 1856; John C. Jr. b. 1858; Adaline (Mrs. Louis Cleveland) b. 1860; Gertrude A. b. 1865 other children of Judge Wilson are Dr. William H. Wilson; Robert Davidson Wilson; Charles J.F. Wilson; Phillip King Wilson; Mary Illinois Wilson; Margaret Eleanor Wilson; Thomas K. Wilson; Susan Jane Wilson and Byron Wilson. Hoping for bites....... thanks Janean
