It's been a long day, Janean. What's the question here? If why someone went from Maryland to Middleburg to marry, only the parties present really know. I would suspect because that's where their families lived. A bigger problem here is working with secondary sources. Your best bet would be to track each of these marriages to an original source. A marriage could be performed in one place, and returned by the minister to the county clerk in another place. Marriages from as far away as the Shenandoah Valley have been recorded in Frederick Co., Maryland by a traveling Lutheran minister.
