Fauquier County was never part of Loudoun County. Loudoun was created from Fairfax County in 1757. Other than a slight boundary correction of about 2 miles on the Loudoun/Fairfax line in the late 1790's, Loudoun's boundaries have remained the same. Fauquier was created in 1759 from Prince William County.
