I am curious about these names. In reading the will of William Withers he mentions his daughter Agatha Withers wife of Martin Porter. I show in my database collection a Samuel Porter b.abt. 1774 d. 1836 m. 1796 to Mary Withers. I've been trying to find the Porter and Doddridge connections to my John Wilson and/or his wife Elizabeth Chinn. They named a son Samuel Porter Wilson. Coincidentally, John Wilson and Elizabeth Chinn also married in 1796. I'm wondering if this is the Samuel Porter his son is named after and if so, WHY? I also see that William Withers had a daughter that married John Ball Jr. Elizabeth Chinn is from the BALL family. Does anyone know anything about the Porter family. Thanks Janean
